Tulips - the Blue Jug by Samuel John Peploe (1871 - 1935)

Samuel John Peploe is one of the group of painters known as the ‘Scottish Colourists’. Born in Edinburgh, he studied in Paris and lived there from 1910 to 1912; French painting proved to be a powerful influence for Peploe throughout his life. A collection of his paintings is held by the National Galleries of Scotland.
